Use of DataBBC News founded in 1922 is a 24/7 broadcast news department owned and operated by the British Broadcasting Corporation, based in London. When BBC News began, they earned a royal charter, allowing them to operate independently of government. What started as a radio program, expanded over the decades into television, the internet, and apps for handheld devices, becoming possibly the largest news gathering organization in the world. presently, it holds 50 foreign news bureaus and employs over 250 correspondents worldwide. Among other accolades, BBC News has received 11 Royal TV Society awards.
