Shane Bauer is best known for his reporting for Mother Jones Magazine, including his work as an undercover Prison Guard which won him a National Magazine Award. Shane Bauer has also spent time reporting in the Middle East and was held hostage in Iran for 3 years. Bauer co-authored a book on this experience called A Sliver of Light.
