Atlanta, Georgia, USA
The Atlanta Community Press Collective (ACPC) is a nonprofit media outlet based in Atlanta, Georgia, focused on making local government accessible to the public through civic-accountability reporting.
ACPC was founded in 2021 amid frustration over the opacity of Atlanta city government, the perceived ineffectiveness of corporate media in covering local sociopolitical issues, and the introduction of city council legislation establishing the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, widely known as "Cop City." The collective has since expanded to cover municipal legislative sessions and maintains a library of documents obtained through Georgia Open Records Act requests, which it makes publicly accessible, often distributed through social media.
ACPC has covered the response to the killing of environmental activist Manuel "Tortuguita" Paez Teran by Georgia State Patrol officers and the broader "Stop Cop City" protest movement, along with Georgia legislative and bail-fund reporting.
Head of Video News: Nolan Huber
ACPC serves Atlanta residents seeking government-accountability reporting and civic engagement resources, distributing much of its work through social media and its own website.
