Ownership

Arvato Group is wholly owned by Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA and operates as one of Bertelsmann's divisions. It is a business-services company rather than a media or publishing operation in its own right.

History

Arvato's origins trace to Bertelsmann's printing and industrial-services division. The division was renamed Bertelsmann Arvato in 1999. In 2016, Arvato AG was merged into parent Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA and removed from the commercial register as a separate stock corporation, continuing as a Bertelsmann division.
