Artforum

Artforum is a monthly print and online contemporary art magazine. The publication is a leading source for contemporary art news and extensive criticism. The print edition is known for its distinct square 10.5 × 10.5 layout, which challenged printing conventions and reflected the modernist abstract art movement during the magazine’s founding in the 60s. British photographer John Coplan founded Artforum in San Francisco, 1962. In 2022, Penske Media Corporation (PMC) acquired Artforum, and currently owns and operates the publication. Artforum operates art guide, a subscription-only mobile application that provides contemporary art guides for various cities.
