Arkib Negara Malaysia Cawangan Sabah is the Sabah branch of the National Archives of Malaysia, responsible for the records of federal government departments and agencies operating within Sabah state.
The branch was established on February 1, 1977, twenty years after the founding of the National Archives of Malaysia. It began operations at Rumah Persekutuan in Kota Kinabalu, relocated to the Nosmal Court Building on Jalan Pantai in June 1977, and moved again to the Wisma YTL building on Jalan Kolombong, Inanam, in September 1985.
The branch manages records from nearly 2,000 federal departments and agencies based in Sabah, applying the National Archives Act 2003 (Act 629) to records management and archival administration.
The branch is located at KM4, Jalan Penampang, Kota Kinabalu. It is a distinct institution from the Sabah State Archives, which separately manages Sabah state (rather than federal) government records.
