Tucson, Arizona, USA
The Arizona Daily Wildcat, published online as the Daily Wildcat, is the student-run, editorially independent news outlet of the University of Arizona, serving the campus and greater Tucson community.
The paper was founded in 1899 under the name Sage Green and Silver, and has also been known at various points as Arizona Weekly Life, University Life, Arizona Life and Arizona Wildcat before adopting its current name. It publishes daily online at wildcat.arizona.edu during the fall and spring semesters, with a monthly print edition distributed on campus and in surrounding Tucson neighborhoods, and a weekly summer edition known as the Arizona Summer Wildcat.
The Daily Wildcat was named Best College Newspaper by the Princeton Review's "The Best 361 Colleges" in 2006, and has received national recognition including a 2010 Associated Collegiate Press Online Pacemaker award and a 2015 Associated Collegiate Press National College Media Convention Best of Show.
The paper is staffed by more than 100 University of Arizona students; editorial leadership, including the editor-in-chief, rotates among student staff each academic year under the oversight of Arizona Student Media.
The Daily Wildcat serves the University of Arizona student body, faculty and staff, along with Tucson-area readers, with its print edition available at roughly 140 rack locations on campus and at nearby businesses.
