Anthropocene News

Anthropocene News is a nonprofit news website based in Fort Collins, Colorado. Founded in 2016, it focuses on solutions to environmental issues rather than just reporting about them. According to Anthropocene's website, the goal is "changing the game plan. Where traditional environmental reporting has focused on the crisis, we are focusing on solutions. Anthropocene convenes, across multiple media outlets, the world’s most creative writers, designers, scientists, and entrepreneurs to explore how we can create a sustainable Human Age we actually want to live in. Our goal is not to make people feel better; nor is it to scare them into paralysis. Rather we are forging a sophisticated middle ground: evidence-based journalism that puts the best science and innovations into the hands of those who can do the most with them. In other words, we are balancing urgency with efficacy."

With a mission to create a sustainable Human Age, Anthropocene convenes creative writers, designers, scientists, and entrepreneurs from various media outlets. They state that their editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by donor support.
