Al Jazeera Mubasher (Arabic for 'live') is an Arabic-language public affairs channel of the Al Jazeera Media Network, based in Doha, Qatar, that broadcasts conferences, press events, and political proceedings live and without editing or commentary.
The channel launched on April 15, 2005, as the Middle East's first 24-hour live news and events broadcaster, often compared to C-SPAN in the United States or BBC Parliament in the United Kingdom. A companion channel, Al Jazeera Mubasher Misr, operated in Egypt from 2011 until it was shut down by Egyptian authorities in 2013; in December 2014 Al Jazeera announced plans to merge Mubasher and the suspended Egypt channel into a single service, Al Jazeera Mubasher Al-'Amma.
Programming consists of unedited live feeds of political gatherings, press conferences, and public discussions from across the Arab world, supplemented with subtitles where translation is needed, and became closely associated with live coverage of the 2010-2012 Arab Spring uprisings.
The channel is broadcast via satellite across the Middle East and streamed live on its website and social platforms.
