Adams MultiMedia (formerly Adams Publishing Group) — President and Chief Executive Officer; Founder (2013– )
Mark Adams is president and CEO of Adams MultiMedia, a family-owned community newspaper company he founded in late 2013 with support from his father, Stephen Adams, and three brothers. Following a 20-year career at a Boston-based private equity firm specializing in media, Adams launched the company, which began acquiring newspapers in March 2014; as of 2022 it owned more than 127 newspapers across 20 states and the District of Columbia, and by 2025 comprised more than 30 daily newspapers, over 100 non-daily publications, and roughly 220 total media products in 20 states. In 2025 Adams led the company's rebranding from Adams Publishing Group to Adams MultiMedia, describing the change as a reflection of the company's expanded digital and multimedia focus alongside its continued print operations. Adams is a third-generation media figure: his grandfather, Cedric Adams, was a CBS radio and television personality and Minneapolis Star/Tribune columnist, and his father, Stephen Adams, built a diversified business empire spanning advertising, publishing, broadcasting, and outdoor advertising. Adams was born and raised in Minneapolis, attended the London School of Economics, graduated from Tufts University, and holds an MBA and an M.S. in communications from Boston University.
