Fellow newsjunkie,
I have a short message to share this week: Don’t cooperate.
Don’t cooperate when they extort you over research grants. Don’t give them names of colleagues. Don’t sideline your top talent when they threaten your license.
Don’t cooperate with them on anything.
There are many reasons why this is the right defense to Trump’s crimes. It slows him down and forces commitment of resources across a large battlefield. It destroys the lie of his invincibility. It sets an example and gives courage to others. But above all, do not cooperate with this tyrant so you can hold on to your self respect. Even if you pay a price for resisting—and you might—you will go to sleep at night knowing you did the right thing.
